Chad Warren

csbwarren@gmail.com -

I am a Boston native who moved to Madison in 2004 (prior to the Red Sox winning 2 World Series Titles), a Master’s certified teacher (bilingual in Spanish) and high school track 1995-2004 (2 time Coach of the Year). Over the past 5 years I have decided to meld my worlds of fitness and education and become a personal trainer (A.F.A.A. certified) and I am working on my certification as a Wellness Coach also through A.C.S.M.

I feel it was a natural transition to personal training for me as I am still teaching skills, just a different kind to a different audience. I am skilled at assisting my clients in achieving success because I listen. I listen to what they say as well as what they don’t say and make sure that the workout I prescribe fits their needs. I meet them at their access point and take them to their goals by providing constructive feedback and support while pushing their thresholds. My area of expertise would be functional training (movements you use daily). I use a variety of implements like med balls ,bands, physioballs and body weight. When I am not training with clients I enjoy time with my wife Sara and my son Burke. We collectively enjoy mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding. I also practice what I preach to my clients by being consistent with my exercise and making healthful food choices. I am currently training for British Columbia Mountain Bike Race which is a 7 day stage race June 30-July 7, 2012

Christine Ellison

Christine has been training both groups and individual clients for over 5 years. She is a Certified Natural Trainer (CNT) and completed the Mentorship level 1 program at Athletes Performance. Before moving to Madison, she was an outdoor educator and did various trips including backcountry skiing above the Arctic Circle, month long hiking in Death Valley and a summit of Mt. Rainier. Now with two kids, she stays closer to home. Christine believes in being balanced, and helping her clients develop their core strength, the base of all movement. A strong core is especially crucial for cyclists to keep a connection between arms and legs and increase all around endurance. Cycling draws from this power center and its important to keep it strong. Although the workouts are whole body, the core is the focus.

It has become a new passion for her and her enthusiam is contagious! She taught swimming for many years and loves planning workouts that improve fitness, challenge and invigorate. She feels strongly that working out with a trainer and in small groups can really freshen up a workout routine. Blake Becker

blakebecker@gmail.com -

Blake Becker is a professional long course triathlete and USA Triathlon coach who was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He specializes in half Ironman, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman distance racing and has a number of top 10 professional finishes to his credit. He just finished Ironman Wisconsin in 5th place with a time of 8hrs 55:44.

Blake will be managing a multisport team that will launch in January of 2011. The Madison based team will foster an environment where the camaraderie and spirit of a team can be enjoyed and used for motivation. Designed for athletes of all abilities; the team will not only help athletes achieve their individual goals, but also help integrate the multiport lifestyle into their own lifestyle in a way that is sustainable in the long term.

Blake’s multisport team will be training at Speed Cycling’s facility. Besides others, Blake believes in indoor power-based training.

"Effort is consistent throughout the athlete’s workout. When the indoor trainer is set to any given intensity, the trainer holds you to it and doesn't allow you to back off. You can constantly monitor your power which unless you have an expensive on-the-bike power meter you cannot do outside."
