Blake Becker is a professional long course triathlete and USA Triathlon coach who was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He specializes in half Ironman, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman distance racing and has a number of top 10 professional finishes to his credit. He just finished Ironman Wisconsin in 5th place with a time of 8hrs 55:44.
Blake will be managing a multisport team that will launch in January of 2011. The Madison based team will foster an environment where the camaraderie and spirit of a team can be enjoyed and used for motivation. Designed for athletes of all abilities; the team will not only help athletes achieve their individual goals, but also help integrate the multiport lifestyle into their own lifestyle in a way that is sustainable in the long term.
Blake’s multisport team will be training at Speed Cycling’s facility. Besides others, Blake believes in indoor power-based training.
"Effort is consistent throughout the athlete’s workout. When the indoor trainer is set to any given intensity, the trainer holds you to it and doesn't allow you to back off. You can constantly monitor your power which unless you have an expensive on-the-bike power meter you cannot do outside."
